3 am people. i’m lying in my bed and Keely says that Wesley has been fussing for a while and she can’t get him to go back to sleep. Just to back up a bit, Mimi and Vicki are sleeping over at the house, so they can be here in the morning when we do presents. Thus, Julie and Elly “beg” to sleep out in the living room with Mimi. So, I read a couple chapters in Ted Dekker’s “Black” and when we’re done and ready to sleep, I go out to the living room and Elly is awake. She wants to go back to her bed, so i make as much noise as possible crashing into the bouncer and dragging her and her blanket back to her room. Get her situated and haven’t heard from her since. Julie, on the other hand, has been on the love seat in the living room. So, when I wake up at 3, she comes in the room and asks if she can sleep on our bed. Keely says no and asks her to go to her bed.
I’m laying in bed and cannot go back to sleep. This is when Keely says to me, “Either go to sleep, or get out of bed.” I’m sure she meant it in the sweetest way possible. I do have to give props to my wife because she can go about 7 years without sleeping. There must be a place that she can go where the cares of this world melt and disappear so she can get a good night sleep.
She and the kids decided to go to Tangled the other day and said, “What if I fall asleep during the movie?” I can’t remember what I replied with, but I should’ve said, “It would be well worth it then.” Reminds me of a Rose is Rose comic, I think.
So, I’ve been up in my office for the last 2 1/2 hours watching the Office and laughing hysterically. Keely and I watched one episode together and she hated it. Funny, because many people have told us that same thing, but once they got past the first couple, they really liked it.
Now it’s 6:30 and I’m sure the house will be stirring in a little bit. Christmas decided to come to our house this year. We normally go over to mom and dad’s but felt like the kids wanted to be home to do everything. I think mom gets overwhelmed with all the cooking and cleaning sometimes. Anyway, happy birthday, Jesus. Thanks for giving us life!
